Wi-Fi (Wireless Fidelity) is a technology that allows multiple devices to connect to each other and to the internet without having to use cables or wires. Wi-Fi is based on the IEEE 802.11 standard, which includes a set of standards used internationally for wireless communication. The latest is 802.11ac, which reaches 1,300 Mbit / s.


The router broadcasts a signal in a certain area. The signal can be picked up and used by cell phones, computers, tablets, smart TVs or other devices when they are in that area. A rather practical device to connect to the Internet at home. The choice of a router depends on the number of mobile devices you have and the use you make of the Internet. If your needs are minimal, most basic routers can do the trick. On the other hand, if you have several devices and a big house to cover, it is better to opt for a more powerful router that will offer a greater range. Please note that to ensure good quality Wi-Fi, you must ensure that there are no electromagnetic waves emitted by other electrical devices. Why? Because they cause interference. You must also bring the transmitter and the receiver closer to each other to enjoy a good flow.


To ensure optimal Wi-Fi, place your router high up on a desk or shelf. If possible, avoid concrete walls, metal objects and ventilation / air conditioning systems. Keep the place clear of any clutter. Large objects and other electronic devices interfere with the range of the Wi-Fi signal. If you have a large home and your devices are far from the router, consider installing a signal amplifier to extend your wireless network. If you're still not getting the speeds you're looking for, then your broadband subscription may be the cause. There is no point in investing in state-of-the-art network equipment (for example, even more efficient routers), if your internet speed is not up to par.


Wi-Fi routers are not just limited to wireless connections. You may want to get the optimal speed offered by TFLM, for example when playing in an online competition. To do this, simply connect your device directly to an Ethernet port on the router using a network cable.
